I'm guessing it wasn't the government, but I also wouldn't be extremely surprised if public money was somehow involved, directly or indirectly. The obvious fact is that whoever paid for it clearly has their priorities, and making money via sports is at the top of the list, for better or worse.

The whole New Orleans rebuilding process is full of stuff like this, though. There are people / groups who are trying to take the opportunity to move in and rebuild higher income residential property to replace that which used to house poorer communities, so not only have these people taken the brunt of the natural disaster, they are now getting forced to stay out by enterprising people interested in "revitalizing" the city.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14114671.post-1159288466762185692006-09-26T09:34:00.000-07:002006-09-26T09:34:00.000-07:00vc's football was a joke because they didn't have ...vc's football was a joke because they didn't have an awesome new stadium!

^ sardonicnathan strykerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10729337203663553612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14114671.post-1159239594255998552006-09-25T19:59:00.000-07:002006-09-25T19:59:00.000-07:00And who goes to watch VC football. Third, some things are more important than having a place to live, but I thought that was high school football.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
