That Whole Plane Incident...

I can honestly say that it's not everyday that a disabled aircraft flies over me while sitting in the LA traffic. But it happened to me yesterday, and it was quite thrilling (now that I know it landed ok). That pilot deserves a raise and a vacation.

Cingular to launch music download service
Cingular Wireless, the No. 1 U.S. wireless carrier, plans this year to sell a "walkie-talkie" ... The service fee would likely be "slightly higher" than what consumers pay for songs on iTunes, the popular system run by iPod creator Apple Computer Inc.

Yet another reason we're flying JetBlue next month.

Rock on! Make sure you board the aircraft with your camcorder so you can sell the tape for big bucks to the Today show!

If you have to fly around in circles for 2 hours before an emergency landing, make sure you raid the food pantries and the bar. I'd be sluggin down those tiny whiskey bottles and little nut packs like there was no tomorrow.

i was sooo pissed when they brought up the stairs. when they were flying around i kept saying, "well, at least they'll get to ride on the slides!" then they pull out this, "oh, they might hurt themselves going down a slide," bullshit. i mean, they just survived a landing with the landing gear sideways, they can handle the slide! how about stairs on one side, slide on the other?

then i heard a rumor that the pilot turned off their direct tv after a while because they were watching the reports about their flight?! i'm sorry, this is america! even worst case scenario, people can decide that they can handle watching their own plane crash.

I was waiting for them to roll out the jolly-jumper slide too! Then I read an article that actually lots of injuries occur when people use the jolly jumper slide.
They roll off, break appendages, hurt their backs, etc...

I won't be slugging down any whiskey bottles, but I'll ask about the slides, although truthfully I'm hoping the issue doesn't come up.

What I'm wondering is if any of the passengers who really thought that they were going to die called their loved ones as the plane was making its laps. You'd better believe I would be on the phone to Randy. He'd have to calm me down. I'm not sure if raiding the beverage cart and swigging all the whiskey would cut it for me. Wait! Maybe that's why all those people get hurt on the jolly jumper slide! They are all intoxicated! I'm gonna apply for a research grant to study that.
